Tompkins Classic Meet

More track meets.
Grandma and Grandpa Smith just got in town in time to see Makenzie throw. It was cold and windy and got colder as the sun went down. This meet was at Tompkins High School but they did all the throwing at our high school since Tompkins fields were still too muddy to get to. Makenzie got first in both shot and discus. She threw 37'5" in shot put and only 99'2" in discus, that's not her best, but nobody else was throwing that well either, especially when it got dark and colder!

A beautiful sunset!

It was too cold for March in Houston!

We were pretty much in the dark. It was hard to see where the discus had landed.

New Beginnings

The Laurels were in charge of the decorations for New Beginnings, and I'm am decoration challenged, lucky for us, my niece, Kristina, just had theirs and she posted a picture of her cute idea, so we used her idea, ours wasn't as nice as hers, but it worked! My friend Audralyn was really helpful with getting all the supplies and she had really cute handouts for all the girls! I did all the pictures and Audralyn mad cute vinyl "Come Unto Christ" for the picture frames and Gillian put them on all the frames. It was a real team effort!

Icy Day

We had rain and freezing temperatures, so everything had ice on it. The kids didn't even get a bad weather day, since they already had 2 and we have no extra make up days. The weight of the ice on the trees caused a lot of damage in our area, limbs just broke off and i don;t mean little limbs, they were big limbs, it looked like a hurricane came through. The trees without leaves were really pretty though, they were all white and frosty. When it started to melt, chunks of ice would fall off power lines, road signs and lights. Good thing I was in a car, some of the ice could hurt someone if it landed on them.
Our droopy pine tree. We lost some limbs, but luckily i was able to put them out with the trash that day!

This tree is higher than the house. It really hasn't bounced back all the way. I don't like it anyways, so I have given Dale permission to cut it down, which means, chainsaw!

All the trees drooping in the back yard also

I can't find our house in the mess!

Makenzie's Basketball Banquet

Makenzie had her final basketball banquet. She received the Academic Award for the player with the highest GPA. We are so proud of her sports and most of all academic accomplishments.I  also got to do the the Varsity slide show for the banquet. I had a blooper at the banquet, after the slide shows were done, i was asked to shut the projector down, what I did not know, is that the microphones where hooked up to the whole media board, so when I shut it down it shut the microphones off and we needed a password to get back into the media board. Luckily the guy who set it up left me with his phone number and he was able to talk a coach through getting it back up again, OOPs!.

A very nice center piece

Wish this wasn't blurry, but this is when Coach Morris said Makenzie was going to go to BYU and Coach Park leaned over and said, "It's not too late to go to University of Utah" Coach Park went to BYU but he is a U of U fan. He did tell her she would be at the top of her class at Utah where as she would have to compete more at BYU.
