"There is Sunshine in My Sole"

I was looking through the April New Era and came across this cartoon.
Thought it was funny because of the recent picture Matthew sent me...
Here is a pair of Matthew's shoes after 8 months of missionary service.
Glad to see he is working on his mission!
Luckily they had a 2 year guarantee and I sent them this picture and the receipt and they sent me a new pair of shoes within a week.

Basketball Banquet

Monday the 28th the girls had their Basketball Banquet. This is just the beginning of many high school banquets for Makenzie and the end for Brittney, bitter sweet night, at least for mom.

Her coach is telling her to get her toe fixed.
She has had an ingrown toenail almost from the beginning of basketball season, but hasn't taken time off to get it fixed and she went right into track after basketball. She didn't want to miss any basketball games or track meets. Luckily track is almost over so she can get it taken care of!

Missionary Moms

We currently have 16 young men/young women serving missions from our ward.
Yesterday we had a Missionary Moms potluck lunch. There were 7 moms in attendance, but out us 7 moms  9 missionaries were represented, since 2 of the moms have 2 sons out.
Out of the moms that came they represent missions in Colorado, Utah, California, Oregon, Washington, Indiana, Mexico, Argentina and the Dominican Republic.
We love our Missionaries!!!

Yee-Haw Rodeo Time

The Houston Livestock and Rodeo was in town for 3 weeks. We were able to attend before it left. What was even nicer, was it was compliments of ConocoPhillips. We wanted to go that day because Brad Paisley was in concert that night and lucky for us some tickets became available in the ConocoPhillips suite. We are a little spoiled, I know. It was nice being in the suite because BYU's basketball game was at the same time, so we had access to a TV to watch it.

We even got parking by Reliant Stadium with our tickets!!!
The girls are in their western wear and Jacob is supporting BYU/Jimmer.
Before we went into the stadium, the girls and I went to look at the animals and Dale and Jacob hit the carnival. While waiting to meet up with the guys we decided to take pictures with the horses in the background.
 My sweet girls
 Nice horsey
 Here comes Dale
Brittney loving on the Scooby Doo Jacob won at the carnival, shooting a basketball of course!
 Let the Rodeo begin

Dale joining Jacob. Jacob asked me to leave, he says BYU does better when I'm not in the room.
He did the same thing at home, he told me to go work on the computer during their first tournament game, I guess my presence jinx them??

Food for Tickets

I wonder if LDS(Mormons) members are selling off their food storage so they can have money to buy a ticket(s) to the Sweet Sixteen in New Orleans, LA??

Go BYU Cougars!!!

P.S. Thank you Jimmer for choosing to play for BYU!!

Special Olympics 2011

My favorite thing the youth from our church do every year is running the Special Olympics in our area.
I love to see them help, but I really love seeing all the smiles on the participants faces as they do their events.

Tyler is Brittney's age and Brittney was his Best Buddy in Jr. High and also has him in her Floral Design class.
