Steal and Basket for the Win

Jacob's team was in a real battle with the Rams. The game was tied with 7.5 seconds left. The Rams had the ball on a throw in. Jacob jumped up and stole the pass and took it down  and made the winning basket!!!!

Jacob had his Football Banquet which included a meal and then awards. I only got a fewpictures of the awards since it was so dark. I didn't get any of him eating with his friends since I was busy holding on of the coaches new baby. Pictures or holding a baby?? Baby won out.

Jacob and a future Kentucky player

Earlier in January, Jacob got his picture taken with Andrew Harrison, who is a local basketball player who is going to play at Kentucky. Andrew and his brother were at our high school to cheer on a fellow AAU teammates that plays for our school.

Back on the Court

Eight days after rolling her ankle, Makenzie was back on the basketball court last night. She moved well and had 10 points. It was also favorite teacher night and she invited her Pre AP Physics teacher, Mrs. Manuel. After the game I asked her how her ankle felt, she said it was sore and felt swollen, the trainer had taped it up before the game, so we had to take the tape off to see if it was swollen. It was swollen alright, it was more swollen than it was when she first injured it. Hope it is better by Friday!

A Fruity Sadie's Invitation

Makenzie asked a kid from another Ward to go to Sadie's with her. She dressed up in a banana costume and had a monkey, banana Laffy Taffy's and a note. She was going to ask him at Seminary on Monday morning, but he didn't show up. I guess she sat in the costume the whole lesson. She said the lesson was on not judging and her teacher, Brother Nielsen, said we shouldn't judge people if they were wearing a apple or orange costume. Luckily the boy she asked showed up on Tuesday. He said yes and the banana costume got an extra day of use. All is right in the world.

Free Throw Bird

A little brother of a kid from our Freshman B team always keeps us entertained during the opponents free throw attemps

Sammie

With the upcoming Denver Bronco game, I put one of Jacob's old Bronco jerseys on Sammie. She really doesn't like to have things put on her!!
Sammie is sticking her tongue out at me

Sammie is now getting tired of the whole jersey/picture thing

Sammie is just plain irritated with me now
She is now giving me the "please take this off of me" look

Makenzie rolled her ankle at practice today. She won't be able to play in tomorrow's game. This is her first injury that has kept her from playing basketball.

Now we are four again

Matthew and Brittney headed back to BYU today. I sure enjoyed having them home for 3 weeks instead of 2.
I also have a new Primary class. It's the same age group, just got a new group of kids. I have 11 kids, but they are a cute bunch. I have 2 daughters of girls that that were in my Mia Maid class 19 years ago. Crazy huh! It should be a good year!

Reunited

While Makenzie was playing basketball. Brittney got a nice surprise, her former basketball coach, Coach Garcia-Gonzalez, showed up. Coach G as they called her, was a victim of budget cuts so she no longer coaches at our school. Brittney was super excited to see her.
