Getting Ready to Go and Let Go

I spent the afternoon shopping and then went to lunch. I usually do this with the girls, but today this is what I did with Matthew. We were shopping for this stuff: Missionary attire. He is lucky in that he gets to wear short sleeve shirts and slacks and not a suit. he does need 1 suit, but we bought one before he went to BYU and he hardly wore it so it's good to go for 2 years. I guess it's time to start getting him prepared to go. I think I'm still in a stage of denial that he will be gone for 2 years and that I can't pick up my cell phone and talk to him when ever I want to. We prepare them to to want to go on a mission their whole lives, but no one prepares Mom and Dad, but mostly Mom's on letting them go.

That is for sure. They should have a training class for mom's who send son's on a mission.
