On March 24th Matthew received his mission call in the mail. Friends and family gathered around him, computers and phones as he opened his letter.

I can't believe you have a son old enough to go on a mission! Congratulations, what an exciting time for your family :)
Matt will be a great missionary. Hope the time goes fast for him until July. That is the hard part. His mission president is going to like him. Does he come to the Provo MTC?

Hello Marti! I'm glad you found us through the Spendlove blog. We are excited for Matt to go on a mission and I am especially thrilled because I served my mission in the Dominican Republic. It is a beautiful place with wonderful kind people.
