Fun at the Bookstore

Hiking the Y

Makenzie and I decided to hike up to the Y yesterday. She is the last of our kids to go up there. It's a steep hike and the altitude is a little rough for us Texas folk, but it's a short hike,  so it isn't too hard.
The weather was also beautiful! It was about 61 degrees when we started and about 64 when we got back into the car and the sun was shining a clear blue sky!

Some of the view going up

The big grassy area is where the dorms I used to live in were. I guess I was to tough on them and they had to be torn down.
That's one way to go up and down

Side view of the Y, but still a little ways to go, they tease you or as Dale woulds say,
"They get your hopes up and then they crush them"

The altitude is getting to her. She was a little dizzy.

Looking down on the Y

Only 30 days till Matthew gets home as I look down at the MTC

This is for Brittney,
"That looks like water"

Shaved Ice Again

Makenzie gets introduced to Hokulia Shaved Ice.
She was at camp when we went the first time.
It even matches her shirt

Round 2 of Basketball Camp

Monday, the 18th, I dropped Jacob off at the dorms for BYU basketball camp. He is staying in Budge Hall, that's where Matthew stayed for his first Summer term there. We got his bedding on his bed and then went to put his powerades and water bottles in the fridge and saw his roommate had already put his drinks in there. His roommate brought Rockstar Energy drinks. Those are worse than sodas. We went to watch Jacob play last night and he said his roommate brushed his teeth and then drank the Rockstar and sat bed playing on his iPod. The kid had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night(imagine that) and forgot to take his key so he had to wake Jacob up to get back into the room. Jacob looked a little tired last night, maybe he should drink an energy drink, to keep up with his roommate.

Every Little Boy's Dream

Sunday night, the 17th, we went over to Dale's cousin's home (Kirk) for a Father's Day treat. Kirk played college football for Stanford and played with several NFL teams and has all of his helmets and jerseys displayed in his basement, it's really nice. Kristen, Makenzie and Jacob enjoy the pool table that was down there.

Some Brink Side Family Fun

While in Utah I wanted to see my nephew Kyle and his wife Nicky who live in Payson, it's just south of Provo. To my surprise my niece Jyl and her family was there visiting, so we got to see them also. It was nice for Jacob to have a boy cousin to hang out with, he has been surrounded by girls this whole week, there has been baby boys, but not ones he could play with.
We met at Kyle and Nicky's and went up Payson Canyon and some of their friends joined us also. We had a real fun time visiting and the kids had a fun time playing and they especially liked roasting the marshmallows, Makenzie liked roasting them and Jacob liked eating them. It was fun to see and visit with everyone!
